I’m sure there are a million chocolate chip recipes out there, but this one seems to be very well considered and makes fabulous, complex chocolate chip cookies.

Beet Salad

shredded raw beets (3 medium sized beets)
blanched beet greens
candied pecans
with
olive oil
white balsalmic vinegar
crushed raspberries from your backyard (optional)
salt and pepper

toast bread cubes in a pan with olive oil and garlic
add blanched fava beans
scramble with eggs, salt and pepper

Well, I’ve joined on! Last night’s dinner wasn’t anything extraordinary (a big green salad with fennel sausage) I did make one of my all-time favorite desserts: plum clafouti.

grapefruit salad

Pink and Green grapefruit salad:
Mix
–Pink grapefruit pieces from one large fruit
–Chopped Basil, I think I used about 1/2 tsp but more would be good too
–lettuce
–homemade croutons (but I used 1″ squares of seedy bread toast)
Toss with:
olive oil
salt
cracked pepper
